Kellie Van Horn, mezzo-soprano,was praised by critics for her Miami debut as Dido, the Palm Beach Post declaring her "a compelling heroine." Earlier this season Ms Van Horn sang Hermia in A Midsummer's Night Dream with Des Moines Metro Opera. This is her third season with The Shakespeare Concerts, and she can be heard on the Albany Records release Shall I Compare Thee To A Summer's Day. Kellie has also been a favorite of Sarasota Opera singing Prince Orlovsky in Die Fledermaus, Charlotte in Werther, and Lola in Cavalleria Rusticana. At Opera Theatre of St. Louis she portrayed Anne Morrow Lindbergh in the world premiere of Cary John Franklin's Loss of Eden. The Dallas Morning News stated: "Van Horn made Lindbergh's lines sound like music, and she effectively suggested her character's conflicted dignity."
